It’s a busy time for the Steering Group. In addition to this website going live, we hope you’ve received your letter from Chairman Phill Watson, announcing the start of the creation of our Neighbourhood Plan.
Even though we can’t say we weren’t warned, we’re discovering that there is a necessary degree of bureaucracy in the building of a Neighbourhood Plan. Our application to create a Neighbourhood Plan is with Wiltshire Council, and this is a formal regulatory stage lasting six weeks, ending on 6 April 2016. After this time, the Council will consider any comments received in determining the application to ensure that our area is appropriate for the creation of a Neighbourhood Plan. Their decision will be published on the Council’s website. We can’t think of a good reason why the Council would decide our area wasn’t appropriate, but we respect the process we are taking part in, and we are busy preparing to consult with our Parishioners while the wheels of Local Government turn.
We’ll be updating this News page regularly. Neighbourhood Planning is a transparent process and we want you to be up-to-date and to be confident that we’re doing our best to ensure that’s the case. Our Steering Group is comprised of busy people, but we pledge to keep this site updated so that you can rely on it. Check back often!
